A very pretty wedding took place on December 19 1925 at the family home of 631 William St, when Kathleen Olive, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W.G. Roach, was united in marriage to Mr Edward Evander Stewart, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E.O. Stewart of 754 Kings Road. The Rev. A de B. Owen officiated. The bride was given away her father, was charmingly gowned in ivory satin crepe with trimmings of silver, with which she wore the conventional veil and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses and carnations. Miss Mary Stewart, in a dress of grey satin trimmed with pale pink crepe de Chine, was bridesmaid. Her bouquet was composed of chrysanthemums and ferns. Miss Eleanor Weight made a saintly little flower girl in a dress of pink crepe de carnations. Mr Ean Stewart supported the groom. Mr and Mrs E. E. Stewart will reside in this city

I think Mother and dad lived at the Mansell farm (William & Sarah) at first. Later worked on farms at Russel Man, and at a farm out from Deepdale Man.Around 1920 or 21 they left there and purchased a farm the other way from Deepdale near a family by the name of Marely Button. Dad (William John Mansell) built a house on this farm and we lived there till early 1924 when we moved to Bigger Sask. Dad worked for Uncle Charlie (his brother) in the draying business.(like trucking only using horse drawn drays). In the spring of 1925 Dad got a ferry job and we moved to the Fielding Ferry for one year, and then to the Best ferry for one year also. After this (1927) they moved to the Sonningdale - Maymont ferry for several years. Dad later went to the Denholm or Belgennie ferry in 1940. We moved to Nanaimo in 1943 and then onto Richmond in !944.
I (Ella Munroe) started school in Roblin,Man., and then when Dad purchased the farm -Bert, Stan and I all went to Makaroff school, - then onto Bigger School. The two winters mother and us spent in Manitoba we attended Deepdale and Gilbert Plains School. I went for 1 year at Sonningdale Country school when Dad was at the Fielding ferry, and I stayed at the McArthurs. Gladys started at Gunnes School and later went to Sonningdale School. Iris started at Sonningdale and later went to Richmond BC schools.

After coming back to England spent time around Birmingham
JOHNSON, William Henry (I1212)

137 William was born in 1875. William Mosson ... He passed away in 1953. [1]

William Johnstone Mosson, our Grandpa and family arrived in Quebec Ports (Montreal?) Sept 19, 1908 on the Virginian. Auntie Edie was 3, and Uncle Bill was 1.

From a friend, and corroborated by cousin Bill Featherstone, it looks like William Johnstone came out in 1906 on the SS Tunisian with his parents, Henry Thomas and Annie, and brother Henry Albert, perhaps to see what it was like, or to help with the move. Then he went back to England, and 2 years later packed up his young family and moved to Canada as well.

Alan found hand written ship list Sept 22-23 on internet that shows that William Mosson and wife Ada, along with children Edith and Wm. Henry (Bill) arrived in Montreal from Liverpool aboard the ship "Victorian" on Sept 11 1908 with a ticket # 27048
MOSSON, William Johnstone (I49)

\
As told to Alan Mansell by Grannie (Annie) Mansell--- When Grannie Smith (Emily Mosson) lost her sight and was quite old she returned to live with her son Henry Thomas and wife Annie (nee Johnson) My Grannie (Annie) said she and her sisters and brother used to blow out the candle has Grannie Smith would go upstairs to bed, and of course Grannie Smith being blind would not know about the candle, and the children would have a good laugh.
\

\
Henry Thomas was raised by Emily Mosson's parents.
\
Henry Thomas was a stone Mason as was most of the Mosson men. He, his wife and family lived in Lower Slaughter for a number of years. He built and help build many homes in Lower Slaughter. Henry and his family moved to Southstoke where the family operated a store from their house, which still bears the name "MOSSON" on the gate.

\
John Mosson who is in the "Family Tree" 1828 - 1909 was Henry Thomas Mosson's Uncle. He was the first owner of the house in Lower Slaughter where Kenneth Mosson now lives.
\

\
By Alan Mansell---He was most likely Emily Mossons brother. Who is father was I'm not sure as Emily had one illegitimate child called Emily, did she have two
\

\
This note I believe is written by Aunti Ella Munroe (nee Mansell)---
\
They were married in England June 16 1875 and lived in Lower Slaughter and Stoke. # different houses and 2 were in Stoke and all still there in 1978 when Mom, Gladys and I went to England. Grandpa Mosson (Henry Thomas) had bake shops in both places and was also a brick layer or stone mason.
\
At one time a political problem came up, for it seems Grandpa (Henry Thomas) was a staunch liberal and they were renting from a man whose son was running for political office as a conservative. The house owner approached Grandpa and said are yoyou going to vote for my son? Granpa said "I've been a Liberal all my life and I will remain a Liberal. Grandpa was then given notice to move out of house and shop but the Liberal party soon built a larger shop and home for them. The one they had to move out of was 300 years old in 1978 and we were invited into both houses when we were there.
\
Henry Thomas and Annie came to Canada about 1904. Their son Bert and daughter Emily came first, but soon followed by Annie and Henry Thomas with daughter Annie (Grannie). Jeanette (Nett) and Dora followed. I'm not sure if this is the right order and Edith was in China as a missionary helper at the time.
\
They settled in Alexander Man. and Henry Thomas built a house there. Annie (Grannie) was married in that house and I, (Aunt Ella) was born in that house. They later moved to Deepdale Man. Uncle Jack Morris & Aunti Em and Uncle Bert farmed there. Also Uncle Bob Wragg and Aunti Nett had a farm in that area, also Dad(William Mansell) and Mother Annie Mansell (nee Mosson) farmed around there. Uncle Will and Aunti Ada came to Canada later.
\
William Johnstone Mosson 1876\\1953 and Ada Rose came later
\

\
Gladys copy from Mildred---- There is a Mr. Francis Mosson who lives at Ryclose, Burton -on-the-Water his grandfather and Henry Thomas were cousins (Alfred)
\

\
Jon Bakers web site shows that Henry was a grocer and mason in census of 1891
\
It also shows that daughter Edith was South Stoke post mistriss and son William was a postman. Dora Mosson 17 at time was a postal clerk and Jeannette was a postal assistant age 19
